Q1: How does it switch on and off
A1: There is no built in switch so this is switched via a separate wall switch.
Q2: Can this be mounted as a flush ceiling light? If yes, The instructions indicate it cannot be attached to flammable materials... So would it be suitable for the wooden ceiling of a porch?
A2: No this fitting would not be suitable for fitting to a wooden ceiling.
