Product Questions
Q1: Can this sensor be used to trigger an existing light if wired in
A1: Sure, no problem. A qualified electrician should experience no difficulty in doing that for you.
Q2: Can this detector be used to switch on off a small light in a hallway with a 5 watt low energy bulb
A2: This sensor will work fine with a 5W Low energy lamp
Q3: Can i use this to switch on the lights in my hall way of my guest house so that i dont have to leave them on all night for guests, Will it just detect them and switch the lights on.
A3: Yes, that will be fine and will work in the way you want.
Q4: Is there an override facility to be able to switch on the light normally activated by the sensor, So that it's on continuously
A4: Unfortunately this sensor does not have a manual override function on it, however can can link it to a switch which should allow you to manually override the sensor.
Q5: Is this sensor suitable for use with a 40w exterior floodlight?
A5: Yes, it will work perfectly with a 40w exterior floodlight.
Q6: Can this sensor be used with led lighting? I have read elsewhere that some sensors "leak" voltage, Which can cause leds to flicker.
A6: I have checked with the manufacturers instructions, and it does mention LED lights in there so they can be used with this sensor.
Q7: Hi! I have a large area to cover. Could i use two sensors for the same lights set.
A7: I can't see why you can't use two sensors in a large area so one triggers the light from one end and the other from the other end
Q8: Can this sensor be used to only come on when it is dark?
A8: Yes it can, the less sensitive the twilight threshold is set for it will come on only when it has become dark.
Q9: Can the twilight facility be switched off as i want to use this in a dark interior hallway, So it should only come on when movement is detected and not when it is dark, Which is most of the time.
A9: The sensor will only activate the light when it senses movement (and heat), the twilight setting is to adjust the light level at which the sensor starts to detect movement
Q10: Is this purely a switch, Or does it also light up? If so is a suitable lamp included? Thanks
A10: This is a switch only and not a light, this is used to turn your lights on that are connected.
