A1: No this light does not come with it's own switch, it is mains powered.

A2: The backplate is 4cm from the wall to the start of the rod coming from the backplate.

This wall light has an opal glass shade, light is thrown downwards and the glass shade is completely sealed for safety, ideal for use at the side of mirrors to give extra light.
This fitting Requires a 1 x E14 SES LED candle bulb that is not included, the backplate measures 100mm diameter.
