Bathroom Lighting - Shower lights

Shower lights are normally installed in Zone 1 of a bathroom and therefore need to have a minimum IP rating of IP65 to ensure they have adequate protection against the ingress of water.

By installing a bathroom downlight, you are able to focus the pool of light exactly where you really need it. Most bathrooms have a ceiling light and maybe a light near the mirror, but the installation of a recessed shower downlight can still make a large difference to the overall usability of your bathroom.

Bathroom and Recessed Shower Lights

Recessed lights are best for use in showers, but you need to be careful to buy ones that are designed for use in wet and damp environments. The fact that they are recessed means they are flush to the ceiling, which ensures that damp does not build up and attract mould. What's more, they are easy to wipe over and keep clean.

When buying illuminations for a bathroom or shower, it's especially important to pay attention to safety. In your shower, the height of your ceiling dictates what grade of lighting is safe. For ceilings of 2.25 meters or more, IP21 will do the job, but for shower areas with lower ceilings, it’s important to buy and install IP65 rated options.

We sell a huge range of LED lights for shower cubicles and rooms. All of the choices in our bathroom and shower range are specifically designed for use in this type of area, and meet the highest safety standards.
